awesome and simple

amazing tasting coffee, better than the other coffee makers I've owned. I personally prefer the gold filter over paper or fabric as all the tasty oils that help to make your coffee less bitter don't get caught up and stripped away during the brewing process. Also the drip design provides for a more measured time that water spends soaking the grounds which is much easier than my french press. Takes up hardly any space in the kitchen, super easy to use, and relatively well put together. Just remember don't grind your beans until you are going to put the grounds in the maker, the fresher the grind the better the flavors.

Decent - not as good as swissgold

I had two swissgolds - one for work, one for home - purchased a few years ago that are virtually identical design. I lost one on a trip and looked for a replacement. Compared to the swissgold, this one is lighter weight plastic, lighter weight filter screen and the drip basket doesn't sit in the filter basket as well. Still makes a pretty good cup of coffee, perhaps as good as the swissgold, but I wonder how soon this one will become damaged/worn out and need replacement as it is not as sturdy.6-month UPDATE: The item seems to be holding up fine and makes a very good cup of coffee if water poured slowly (as it was with the swissgold), but I stand by my original comments regarding thinner materials in comparison to swissgolds of a few years ago.

it works well for methe holes get blocked by the coffee grounds little by little then it can only brew the coffee slowly after that
