2Like its looks....but.....
By C. Gibson
.....can't get it to work very well. The plunger/strainer fit so tightly it is hard to get them pushed down and when done, virtually impossible to remove without much strain and usually a mess. The third time I used it the entire assembly came apart. It was easy enough to put back together but it is quite difficult to use.Not as flavorful as some French Presses I've had but that may be because of its size. May not be able to brew as well in such small quantities.Do like it's looks and size. Just not thrilled with its performance.

3I had been a happy user (followup)
By Phred
Follow up time:For several months I was a satisfied user of this product. This is a classic lesson that Everything is built to fail. The idea of a coffee press is simple. A Container safe for hot liquids, a filter on a post and you push the filter through the brew to make fresh hot coffee. At this price this looked like a good deal.Look closely at the bright plastic at the top of the push rod. After near daily use for about four months, the connection between the plastic and the metal sheared to the point that it was not possible to remove the otherwise well designed effective filter from the post and either properly clean or remove all the coffee grinds from the filter. This in itself was not a fatal fail , until:This connection weakened to the point that the top will not stay on the post. This part was never dropped nor struck yet it looks to have the beginnings of a crack. This was designed to fail.I like this product. It has a decent price, but it is designed to fail. All coffee presses seem to be some combination of: over priced, poorly designed, too small for non espresso drinkers. This one seemed to avoid these issues, but it is built to failThe first one arrived, not merely broken but shattered. It looked to have been shipped in a reasonable manner (it was shipped with other items) and the pitcher is encased in separate bubble wrap. On arrival this one was more glass dust than glass. The box the tea server itself was packed in seems to have suffered an impact strong enough to break the cardboard.Amazon replaced it. They also sent me a shipping label to make it easy and free to return the broken pitcher. I did buy a new box for the return shipment. Bottom line, full credit goes to Amazon. Had I been acting in an Amazon Advertisement this could not have been easier. The second pitcher arrived within a week and is in service. It is large enough for at least two tall travel mugs of coffee. I am using it in my office where I can get hot water but do not want to hook up a coffee pot. Unlike most reviews for coffee presses, this one is larger than expected, but one serving is a matter of less grounds and water. The glass is labeled as Pyrex, so I would have thought it would be break resistant. Given that the first one arrived so destroyed, I headed the warnings against using metal spoons.Bottom Line , for $24.00, I was happy with this product. And Amazon performed as promised.

5Good product
By A. Leontiev
A very decent and a "no frills" teamaker. One of those things where simplicity assures less problems.Pluses:- no plustic parts are touching your tea (a huge one in our house)- ergonomic design- the glass is very good and sustains the temperature jumps with no issues, looks pretty solid,- the press very intuitively can let you re-brew your tea (oolong can be brewed 2nd time with even a better taste) - just keep the leaves under the high water mark - away from contacting the room air to lessen the oxydation- the cork base is a simple and "great to the point" featureMinus(es):- when I have to make the new cup(s) quickly I tend to take the upper portion out completely at which point basic neatness does not let me just plop it on the counter "press down" and I do not want to look for a special place where I can put it temporarily, so I put it on the side - where it sometimes become a pair of wheels -> tends to roll on the counter back/forth/over the edge, an angled - instead of the currently round - handle would help a lot there - not to let it roll...- this things can basically be only for up to 2 people - sometimes even less - Or maybe it's all just me and the way I drink tea ;)Summary: great thing for the money.
