Great replacement for Gevalia C-60A
By Laura
We broke our carafe on our old Gevalia C-60A coffee maker. It's not a common model, and we almost bought a new coffee maker because of the hassle of finding a replacement. However, took a gamble and bought this carafe, though our model wasn't listed as working with this carafe - and it fits!!You'll need to use the short lid adapter, included in package. The fit was still a little tight, though workable - my husband got creative though, and shaved a millimeter off the top of the plastic lid with an exacto knife. Now it fits in place perfectly! Giving all 5 stars to product, though, since the company didn't advertise it as fitting our coffee maker and isn't responsible for our shenanigans with sharp pointy objects. Its dimensions are as follows: Height with Tall Lid: 6.63", Height with Short Lid: 6.01", Diameter of Pot: 5.98", Diamater of Base of Pot: 4". Check the product fit list on Medelco's website if you're not sure if your coffee pot will work with this model (can't post due to review guidelines, but it's easy to find via Google).

A fitting replacement
By cic
Fits my Hamilton Beach Michael Graves coffee maker fine, but I wish the original carafe was still available. It is easier to clean, though, so that's a huge plus.

Good Replacement Carafe for Black & Decker DCM2160B
By Surfing Amazon Queen
This glass carafe is a good replacement for my Black & Decker Model#DCM2160B. I believe this replacement glass carafe is good as it gets without paying some ridiculous price or actually replacing the whole coffemaker! Every coffeemaker I have ever owned always spills when pouring. This one is no different. This replacement carafe comes with 2 different lids to fit the different models they recommend. Although my Black & Decker coffeemaker was not menttioned it worked out perfectly. Until someone makes an unbreakable glass carafe, it only deserves 4 stars which is still a good thing. No matter what, glass carafes has to be handle with care.

Capresso SG120 12-Cup Stainless Steel Coffee Maker + 4 Pieces 10 oz. ARC Handy Glass Coffee Mug + Urnex Dezcal Home Activated Coffee/Espresso Descaler

Product Description

Preparing great tasting drip coffee at home is simple but requires many factors in order to consistently achieve the perfect cup. Fresh whole coffee beans should be ground to a medium sized grind immediately before brewing for optimal full-bodied flavor. Using fresh, filtered water is essential as brewed coffee is 98% water and non-filtered water could leave the coffee tasting flat. All Capresso coffee makers feature high quality heating elements that heat the water to the ideal brewing temperature of over 200 degrees F and brew the coffee in less than one minute per cup for the perfect extraction that is never bitter. Preferably you should enjoy the brewed coffee soon after brewing has finished as this is when the coffee is freshest and has the most flavor.Brewing a great cup of coffee is a science. The amount of time the water is in contact with the coffee grounds directly relates to the final taste of the brew. All Capresso coffee makers brew coffee in less than one minute per cup which means coffee will never be over extracted or bitter. Brews 12 cups of coffee in under 10 minutes for maximum flavor and aroma.

Bunn's the best, but Amazon's great.
By Grinning Grammy
My husband and I are coffee lovers from way back. Once we bought a Bunn coffee pot for our home, we won't have anything else. It makes great coffee in 3 minutes flat, especially if you use Bunn filters. They fit the basket better and filter the coffee better than the other brands, but they are hard to find in the store. That's why I usually just order the box of 1,000 at a time on-line. The last time, I ordered directly from Bunn, but the price offered on Amazon.com was lower, so I said, "Why not?" and decided to give it a try. We received the same identical product but at a lower price.

Typical commercial size coffee filters. Work great with my 3 pot Bunn coffee brewer. Cheaper than the Brew-rite brand, and free shipping.

A very good choice
By Roy E. Nielsen
When a local warehose supplier stopped carrying commercial coffee filters, ordering them this way has proven to be a very good thing for our non-profit. They sold cheaper than the warehouse and we got them very quickly which kept us from running out of this item.

Good and Quick
By Amy
After reading a lot of reviews on other machines, I chose this one and I'm so happy with it. I am the only coffee drinker in my family, and I can make two lattes/cappuchinos in just a couple minutes. It is easy to use and easy to clean. The frothing attachement works well, but it does take a few times to get the timing down. For the price, I think this is a fantastic machine.Don't listen to the coffee snobs that think that pump-driven is the only kind to get. Not all of us have the money to afford one.I use Starbucks espresso and it tastes great! Enjoy!

It does the job
By A Customer
I wanted a very inexpensive espresso maker to see just how much I would use it before I invested in one of the top-of-the-line machines. So, I purchased the Mr. Coffee and it's doing the job better than I expected.

I don't use the froth on the Mr. Coffee because I have a separate froth machine which has opposing beaters that makes thick froth, heats, then turns off, all without using steam. Therefore, I have my froth and espresso ready at the same time. I just pour them both into a 15 oz mug and the result is a very hot and great tasting mocha cappuccino ready in 5 minutes. The Mr. Coffee espresso machine works so well that it may be quite some time before I invest in a super-automatic.

For anyone interested in a froth machine, go to frothaulait.com. I've used mine for 2 years and love it.

The up side:1. Quick and easy to clean.2. Simple to use.3. Makes good espresso.4. Small footprint.6. Steam driven so there is no learning curve on tamping the grounds.7. Makes over 8 oz of espresso which is enough for TWO 14-16 oz of cappuccino.

The down side:1. Filter retainer clip is a little flimsy.2. Espresso not comparable to espresso bars or high end machines, but very acceptable.

Tips:1. Use the provided carafe to measure water and pour into machine.2. To cool down the boiler quicker just open the steam valve, but put a sponge under it.3. You can use a cup or carafe unless you want 2 separate cups. In that case use the carafe.

Bottom line:

I can highly recommend this inexpensive entry-level espresso machine.

Worth the $$
By A Customer
Unlike to some other Mr. Coffee products, this one is built to last and does not produce coffee that tastes like plastic. I've had this product for over 4 years now, and I never had the slightest problem with it. Highly recommended!!!

Filters that fit...
By Maria
I bought these filters from Amazon to use in my new Black & Decker DCM7 Cup-At-A-Time Coffeemaker, White. I looked in a few different supermarkets but could not find this size, although today, more than a month later, I was surprised to find them at Whole Foods, but for a higher price than I paid per pack on Amazon. I'm glad I bought them though, they work great in my coffee maker for a single cup. They are sturdy and I have not had one burst or rip yet. A good coffee filter, as are all of the Melitta filters, and does the job.

Perfect
By Frank
These filters are perfect for my one cup coffee maker. They catch what the mesh filter misses... and that's plenty. They don't seem to affect the taste of the coffee any and I no longer find residue in the bottom of my cup. Couldn't find this #1 size on the the store shelves any more so I am happy to find them still available here.

There really are 12 little boxes of 40 filters each.
By T.J.
Since there is a lot of confusion from other reviewers, I'd like to clarify. I just ordered these Melitta #1 coffee filters from Amazon (not from a marketplace vendor) and I really did get a small case containing 12 little Melitta boxes with 40 filters (no, I didn't actually count them) in each box. This is over a year's supply for $10. Cool!

Good but one BIG problem
By old man jon
I loved this thing but it broke in two weeks. The glass container that holds the coffee just broke while i was washing it.it is very thin and can be easily cracked or broken. While i had it though it made good coffee.

Not impressed.
By C. S. Mclaren
I was looking for a small coffeemaker that I could store under the counter. I wanted something small, easy to use, and easy to clean. I bought this percolator at K-mart for around ten dollars. I am now shopping for a new percolator because:- Glass is very thin, people get freaked out when I tell them I put it on the stove. It makes creaky sounds sometimes and I'm scared it's going to burst on the stove one of these days.- The holes in the basket are large, so you have to use very coarse ground coffee. We buy our coffee pre-ground, and it is always too fine. It gets into the coffee, which bugs me a little.- It's easy to clean, but otherwise awkward to use. Pulling the basket out is treacherous, and all the interior parts are plastic. I have burned myself pulling the basket out.- The inside parts are all plastic, and I'm uncomfortable putting plastics on the stove-top. I would prefer an all-glass solution, such as the Chemex carafe. So, if none of those things bother you, this is an affordable coffee-maker that works.Update 3/22/13:I see others have discovered the treachery of removing the plastic basket. I too, used tongs to pull it out, then put it in the sink. The coffee seemed to taste okay, but that plastic apparatus was pretty sketchy, and there is no information on the package about the materials used to construct the thing. If the plastic is high-heat safe, maybe they should indicate that on the package. I would really like to find one like this with a metal insert, thicker glass, and a basket with a loop handle to make removal safer. Mine never melted or shattered, but I ended up donating it. We bought a french press and a grinder and haven't looked back.

Great!
By Pat Veretto
I used to have a glass percolator when percolators were the only way to make coffee. This is made just the way the old ones were and I love it. If you've only used a drip coffee maker, this will take a little getting used to, but it makes excellent coffee.
