A Steaming Pile of Garbage!

I didn't bother reading reviews when I ordered this item because I was replacing an existing Space Maker which I'd had for a long time with zero complaints. This coffee pot has been the exact opposite. It is impossible to pour coffee from the carafe without making a huge mess and, after returning the carafe three times, I have come to the conclusion that it is simply a design defect and not anything which can be corrected. I ordered this item with the can opener and the chopper/coffee grinder and the can opener (although a bit flimsy) is the only appliance that we're still using. I pulled the coffee maker down and threw it out in the back yard! The coffee grinder worked perfectly (three times) before it locked up and quit working. After uninstalling it for inspection, I noticed that the grinder cup was also cracking in several places and sent it to reside in the back yard with the coffee pot.Maybe I'm just becoming too demanding in my old age but this is one sorry piece of junk! I'm starting to avoid the Made In China label more and more these days since it seems that they might as well stamp it, "replace every 30 days".

DO NOT BUY ANY BLACK AND DECKER COFFEE MAKERS. I've had this same model for aprox a year and = it leaks from the water well, it leaks from the coffee pot lip, it is terribly slow. Also there is NO PUBLISHED INFO ON B & D'S WEBSITE ON WERE TO WRITE TO COMPLAIN OR EVEN GET REPLACEMENTS. Black and Decker just does not stand behind thier products. Also be warned that the under the counter coffee grinder develops cracks in the grinding cup. After an intense websearch I found a website to write an email - the grinding cup has been replaced - and it has also formed cracks. Since Black and Decker does not stand behind thier products - we WILL NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM B & D. This deserves NO stars

We've had Black & Decker Spacemaker coffee systems for years and have always been pleased. After 3 months of struggling with this one we have finally thrown it away. It was cumbersome to use and always leaked a little. The final straw was when the housing cracked.
