Works great....

We had been using another gold filter (recycled from an old coffee maker that broke down) and had issues with loss of function with that filter. It just didn't fit right. This filter fits nicely (has a notch at the appropriate place) and snugs up well inside the water compartment. This filter...in addition to replacing the small filter inside the water holder has our coffee maker running like it did when it was new.We no longer find coffee grounds in the pot.One thing about this coffee maker is that when it starts to "age" it gets quite noisy and will puff away like a steam engine "forever" after the water (coffee) has gone into the pot. If this is starting to happen to you...take out the little filter inside (replace) and run a 50/50 vinegar & water solution through as well as replace the inner filter(outer one...this one) if it needs it. That should give your pot the needed tune-up, at least for awhile...until minerals build up again. This is more of an issue if you have hard water.Hard water minerals also build up on these "gold" filters (and oils from the coffee), so need to be cleaned regularly in order to be maintained until replacement.

Perfect fit in a Cuisinart

Great fit, and good quality. But like every mesh filter I've used, this one lets a little fine coffee sediment through (hence only 4 stars instead of 5). To prevent this, I also use a paper filter under the mesh filter. This double-filter method works great -- no sediment at all gets through.
