Finally, Hot Coffee

Bought this appliance after trying numerous other coffee makers. We live at high altitude (7000 ft) and could never get really hot coffee. This one actually works and we've had no other problems with it. Takes a little longer to heat up the water but definitely worth it. Would recommend.

Great coffee but breaks after less than 3 weeks

I have the high altitude version which is broken after less than 3 weeks. Made good coffee while it worked but I just tried brewing three pots of coffee and each stopped in middle of each brew cycle. I understand occasional product glitches but Bunn, you should have protected you brand by culling out defective production run from channel. I thought the problem machines have been run out by now. In addition if i had a company with a known bad product run I would have staffed the customer service lines over the weekends to quickly deal with problems. I would especially do the during holiday seasons when people get these units as gifts. Business crisis management 101, When you have a problem product, being able to quickly resolve or address the issue is key. Most people are understanding if you can address it. If you order one I recommend being prepared to deal with a defective unit. I have a feeling once the bugs are out this will be a great coffee maker. And I will reiterate, the coffee was good when it worked.Holger

After a year, I'm going back to a different coffee maker. This Bunn takes forever to brew a pot of coffee. It's ok if you're one of those very organized people who can remember to set up the Bunn the night before to brew automatically before you wake up, but for people like me, who stumble to the coffee pot in the morning and need some as quickly as possible, it's a pain.The Phase Brew takes so long because it heats all the water up to the right temp before sending any of it through the coffee grounds, but, honestly, while that all sounds good, I can't tell one bit of difference between all the water being heated up first, and any other coffee pot that simply sends the water through as it is heating. I think it's just a gimmick and a selling point that actually means very little for the consumer.Another problem is that the "clean" indicator, that tells when the maker needs to be cleaned, goes off all the time. As other long-term users review this brewer, you'll see that this happens a lot, and Bunn claims it's because of local power grids. Well, I don't have any control over the local power grid, so I can only exercise what control I do have by buying a reasonably-priced brewer that actually works when I need it to work.
