Works GREAT - Doesn't Drip Like the Old One

When I broke my orignal carafe, I decided that was my cue to go buy a whole new coffee maker. The old carafe leaked like crazy all over the place when you were pouring, always making a mess. I had a change of heart and decided to purchase this carafe because the coffee maker did a good job other than the dripping. Now I am very glad I bought it. The new one does not drip. I'm not sure what the difference is because they look identical.

I am replacing this carafe for the 4th time in the life of my Krups coffee maker. Next time I will replace the coffee maker instead.

Good carafe but lid does not come off for washing!

We bought this to replace our previous carafe that broke in the sink. The glass is perfect and the handle as well, however the top end of the handle where the lid rests seems like an abruptly cut piece of plastic, like the machine did not do a good job at producing the right size. Anyway, that is minor and aesthetic. The biggest problem and the reason why this is getting 3 stars from me is that the lid does NOT come off once you place it in the hooks. That means you have to wash and dry keeping the lid open, making sure you do not brake this. Not so smart and different than the carafe the machine came with.Perhaps this is an issue with the 12-cup carafe and not with the smaller size. I would suggest you check with others that have the 8/10-cup one and choose wisely.
